Teaching modernism
Layout assignment for 1st year BA students, in which they had to design a small book with mini-biographies of some of the most influential modernist graphic designers. (László Moholy-Nagy, Jan Tchishold, Max Bill, Josef Müller-Brockmann, Paul Rand and Saul Bass).
The aim was for the students to become more familiar with basic layout-skills such as composition, hierarchy and grid systems. By implemeting the historical aspect (modernism) into the assignment, the students was meant to acuire a more complete (holistic) understanding of the subject and origins.

Roskilde Festival competition 2009
Entry for the yearly identity competition for the danish festival "Roskilde Festival". The entry was among the 3 finalists.
Names appearing on the poster are taken from the 2007 festival.

New stuff and new studio-space
DADDY has moved to a swanky new studio-space at Gasværksvej 8E, located in Copenhagen's Vesterbro area. The space is cosy and light with a touch of roughness.
New work has been uploaded to the site. There are examples of work done for the danish men's magazine Euroman and a few examples of the latest development in own projects.

Teaching
From October the 6th and onwards,
Bjørn Ortmann will be teaching layout
and editorial design at Skolen for
Visuel Kommunikation, located in
Haderslev, Denmark. The school
offers a Bachelor's degree and a broad
education in graphic design.
